Severe monsoon rains have caused devastating floods across Punjab and other regions of Pakistan. Thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes as rivers overflow and entire villages are submerged under water.
The flooding has destroyed houses, farmlands, schools, and roads, cutting off many communities from essential supplies. Families are struggling to find clean drinking water, food, and shelter, while diseases like cholera and dengue fever are spreading due to contaminated water.
Many of those affected were already living in poverty. Now, they’ve lost everything.
“We escaped with only the clothes we were wearing,” said one resident, standing beside what used to be her home, now completely washed away by the floodwaters.
Impact of the Floods:
Thousands of homes damaged or destroyed
Farmlands and crops wiped out, leaving farmers without income
Roads and bridges cut off, delaying rescue and relief operations
Increased risk of waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhea
This disaster comes at a time when many families are still recovering from previous floods and economic hardship. Without urgent help, the situation will worsen, especially for children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
Our Response:
At Step Up for Humanity, we are working with local partners to:
Deliver emergency food and clean drinking water
Provide temporary shelters and blankets for displaced families
Distribute medical supplies to prevent and treat disease outbreaks
Support long-term rebuilding and recovery for affected communities
Our goal is to save lives today while helping families rebuild for tomorrow.
